Know Your Neighbourhood: Showcasing Point McKay
Located at the base of Shaganappi and Memorial Drive is Point McKay. People have commented that with the river pathways & mature trees this community feels like you are in a mountain town. There are two apartment towers and a few different phases of townhomes. There is only one light to get out of the city to the Rockies, yet one could almost cycle as fast as it may take someone to drive in rush hour. Popular for people who work at the University of Calgary, Foothills Hospital and the Children’s Hospital. There is nearby shopping at Market Mall, also with cinema. Take reprieve in the summer by floating down the Bow River from Bowness Lagoon or from Point McKay to around the Peace Bridge. Utilize the Bow River pathway, play tennis on the ouitdoor courts or have a picnic in Edworthy Park without having to drive anywhere, start your day training at the local gym, or keep your golf game in check using the Riverside Golf Centre.
